Financial Inclusion

FINCA works to catalyze financial inclusion and economic growth for the poor. In the countries where we operate, nearly three-quarters of adults lack access to even a basic account. Financial exclusion is worse in the Middle East and South Asia (MESA) region, followed by Africa and Latin America. For those fortunate to have at least some access, the services are often limited and expensive, especially for low-income customers.

FINCA is committed to closing these gaps, especially among those who face the steepest barriers: women, the poor, and people in rural areas. Our female outreach is strongest in Latin America, followed by Africa. Eurasia stands out for its outreach to rural customers, who make up nearly two-thirds of FINCA.
